Sascha Stange

Programme for Destination Management and Quality, World Tourism Organization (UNWTO)

Sascha Stange is a Technical Expert at the Destination Management and Quality Programme of the World Tourism Organisation (UNWTO). Prior to his current assignment, he assisted in the preparation and organization of ITB, the world´s leading travel show. His passion for skiing lead him to various destinations in the Austrian Alps where he worked as Senior Destination Manager for ruf Jugendreisen, Germany´s leading tour operator for youth travel. He held the same position for various summer seasons in Italy, Croatia and Spain.

At UNWTO Sascha has been involved in the preparation of several conferences related to the topic of city tourism and mountain tourism. He was involved in the conceptualization of the programme for the first two editions of the Euro-Asian Ski Resorts Conference held in Almaty, Kazakhstan (2013) and in Ulsan, Republic of Korea (2015) as well as for the 8th and 9th World Congress on Snow and Mountain Tourism in Andorra in 2014 and 2016. One of his current projects is a publication on “International Snow and Mountain Tourism Initiatives and Projects”.

Sascha is of German origin, graduated from the Technical University of Berlin in 2012 and holds an academic degree in Regional and Urban Planning. In 2015 he finished an additional master's degree in Tourism Management and Planning at the UDIMA of Madrid.
