Winning an Olympic bid is a lifetime goal for many destinations. But other than community, national pride and exposure, is hosting the Olympic games truly a benefit? It is well known that it is really hard for an Olympic city to earn a profit and stay debt free. Do the pros outweigh the cons? Does the business model that the IOC and FIS work with need to change?
